The
twenty-five 7th and 8th graders at
Newark Center for Creative Learning (NCCL) School, in Newark, Delaware,
were
awarded a grant of $50 of seed money each to give away to help others.
The students selected
their community causes, solicited additional donations, and created
videos of
the process. The results were stunning ... they raised over
$20,000 in
cash and donations in just 3 weeks! It was impactful for the
children,
parents,
teachers, the whole school, and the local community!
The project taught them lot more than how to give
back. The
work integrated reading, writing,
and math. They honed research skills, practiced public
speaking,
budgeted time,
money and resources, worked on group communication and
practiced all kinds of
business communication.
